Why a JPG is usually better for a 10 KB photo

JPG is designed for photographs and generally stores them more efficiently than PNG at very small sizes. A transparent PNG becomes a JPG with a white background, so check the form instructions if transparency is required.

When 10 KB is not enough

If the output looks too small or the form specifies exact pixel dimensions as well as a file-size limit, use the dimensions stated by that form. A KB limit alone does not tell you the correct width or height.
